Straw Man Gets a Nod

Straw Man Gets a Nod

Hey all:

Sorry to be away from here for so long. Writing Brandon Blake No. 3. Riding herd on DEAD SAMARITAN with my coauthor Emily Westbrooks. …

But I’m back with some news: STRAW MAN, the 11th McMorrow novel, has been named a 2017 Maine Literary Awards finalist for crime fiction, the honor bestowed by the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance. Some darn good writers, and great people, reside in this fair state so it’s good to be in this esteemed company.

The awards are given at a reception at Space Gallery in Portland June 1 at 6 p.m. Come by and to chat, get a book signed, meet some of Maine’s finest. A good time will be had.

Also, I’ll be appearing June 15 at Colby College in Waterville as part of the Morning Sentinel’s Community Voices series. (check back here for the location and time). With host Amy Calder, I’ll be talking crime, books, writing, central Maine, newspapers, and whatever else comes to mind. Come join the conversation.
